Where to buy

Seeing, trying and buying XSTO in the UK

The best way to choose is to try a chair on your own routes and in your own car. Here’s who sells XSTO in the UK, and what to ask before you pay.

The UK distributor

Mobility Robot is the trading name of Bentech Medical Ltd, based in Wimborne, Dorset. It describes itself as XSTO’s official UK distributor, and the trade magazine THIIS reported it as such in August 2025. It offers demonstrations and handles UK warranty claims.

We have not found a statement on an XSTO-owned website naming its UK distributor. THIIS report (August 2025).

The manufacturer

XSTO publishes its full range on its corporate website and sells some models through its own online store. When we checked, the store priced everything in US dollars and its shipping page did not list the UK – so buying from a UK supplier is usually simpler, with UK consumer rights and local aftercare.

These 17 businesses were listed as authorised stockists on the UK distributor’s stockist page on 27 September 2026. Stockists don’t all keep every model to try, so call ahead. For addresses, phone numbers and a map, use the official list.

What to ask before you buy

  1. Can I try it at home, on my street and in my car? Ask for a demonstration where you’ll really use it.
  2. Which UK class is it supplied as? Get it in writing, with whether it needs DVLA registration. Why it matters.
  3. Can I buy it without VAT? If you’re eligible, the supplier will ask you to sign a declaration. How VAT relief works.
  4. What does the warranty cover? Frame, electronics, battery and wheels can all differ. Ask who handles repairs and how long they take.
  5. How is it delivered and set up? Ask about training on the controls, folding and charging – and for stair-climbers, a check of your stairs.
  6. What is the heaviest piece when it’s taken apart? Folding is not the same as liftable.
