Overview

The EzGo2 is a very different chair from the rest of XSTO's range. There is no self-balancing or stair-climbing here: instead it is built around a carbon-fibre frame that XSTO says weighs just 11.5 kg without its battery, folding in three steps to a package only 260 mm wide.

That makes it a candidate for people who need a powered chair that a companion can lift into a car or carry up a step without difficulty. XSTO's own specification lists its usage type as indoor, with a modest top speed and small obstacle limits, so it is best thought of as a lightweight chair for smooth surfaces rather than an outdoor all-rounder.

Things to consider

Our honest notes, from XSTO’s figures and UK rules. Worth raising with the seller or your assessor.

  • XSTO lists it for indoor use. Its listed obstacle and slope figures are small, so it is not suited to kerbs, grass or steep ramps.
  • XSTO's specification lists fixed seat dimensions and angles, with no mention of powered lift, tilt, recline or self-balancing - quite different from the M4 series.
  • We could not find the EzGo2 on XSTO's own online store or on the UK distributor's site in September 2026, so UK availability is unclear. Ask the UK distributor or a stockist.
  • The battery works out at about 240 Wh (volts × amp-hours), which is under the 300 Wh limit for a lithium battery that has to be removed for a flight. Airline approval is still needed.
  • XSTO's specification uses 'or less' and 'or more' for several figures. Ask the seller for the exact values in the user manual.

Certifications and approvals

We did not find product-specific certification documents (such as UKCA or CE declarations, or MHRA registration) on XSTO’s product pages. XSTO’s corporate site shows a range of approval marks without saying which apply to which model. If approvals matter to you, ask the seller for the documents for this model.

UK rules for this model

UK class: not stated by XSTO

XSTO quotes a top speed of 4.5 km/h. That matches the class 2 limit of 4 mph (6 km/h) for pavement chairs.

Ask the seller to confirm in writing which class it is supplied as, whether it needs DVLA registration, and whether VAT relief applies.
